NAME
       libxnet - X/Open Networking library

DESCRIPTION
       Historically,  this library provided networking interfaces which comply
       with the X/Open CAE Specification, Networking Services, Issue  4.  This
       functionality now resides in libc(3LIB).


       This  library  is maintained to provide backward compatibility for both
       runtime and compilation environments. The shared object is  implemented
       as  a filter on libc.so.1. New application development does not need to
       specify -lxnet.

HISTORY
       The libxnet library was introduced in Solaris 2.6 as a  filter  on  the
       libsocket(3LIB)  and libnsl(3LIB) libraries. This library became a fil‐
       ter on the libc(3LIB) library in Solaris 11.4.
